Geocache Description:

Another short and sweet coastal cache on the Northern Beaches.

The Ovens is a little spot between Whale and Avalon beach renowned for it'd rock fishing. It gets it's name from the cliff formation viewable from the rock platform below.
The cache is a short walk from the street on a public pathway between 2 houses (No's 32 & 33 ). Minimal parking is available along Rayner Rd.
Although you have to pass through the timber fence to access the cache it is not near the cliff ,Still a constant eye should be kept on geokids because there is no secure fence in-place.
If accessing the fishing spot below it is strongly recommended that you take the walk around from Sth Whale Beach car park.
Experience at rock fishing and abseiling is a must if accessing this spot as well as knowledge of the swell and tides.

Remember never rock fish alone and never turn your back on the ocean.
