I placed this cache for the geocachers MarleysMom & Dad. They spend their Sundays driving all the way down into Venus country (Pennsylvania) to go geocaching. I figured it was about time they could find a nice cache in their area!
Not only that, but they beat out the local FTF hogs (trust me, I've tried beating these guys to caches, but i swear they have a flying pirate ship that gets them there before me!) and grabbed 3 FTFs on my caches in one morning. And to top it off, they both hit their 100th finds that same day. So congratulations to you both and enjoy your cache!
This ammo box is placed off Mongaup Road on the way up to the Mongaup Pond public campground. There is a nice pull off you can use to access the cache. From that parking area, it's only about a 200 ft. walk. This area is really beautiful and the Mongaup Creek is breathtaking right here.
Things might be a bit difficult in the winter. I know this because I was walking through snow that at some points came up to my thighs! If you find yourself in need of getting this cache in the winter, don't say I didn't warn you!
