Geocache Description:

This is a Night Cache

DARKNESS: the absence of light. The emotional response to darkness can be intense, inspiring metaphor in literature and symbolism in art. It can also turn a spark of fear into an inferno of terror under certain circumstances. Imagine yourself in the woods at night. Coyotes howling in the distance. Something unseen moving through the undergrowth close at hand. And you find yourself tangled and stuck in a blackberry and greenbriar thicket. Is the fear creeping up the back of your neck already?

Proceed to the posted coordinates, turn on your flashlight and have a look around. Follow the reflectors to the cache.
  • A red filter on your flashlight works best to preserve night vision. Your Q-beam spotlight will work, but it's just a little bit of overkill most of the time.
  • Mark a waypoint for your car or at least the place you want to get back to after hunting the cache. It can be difficult to get your bearings in the dark if the evil cache hider has spun you in circles.
  • Wear long pants. Even in the Summer. The thorns and critters you see during the day can be rather stealthy at night.
  • Don't do anything that will get you hurt. Stop and think about it before you decide to swim across a river.
  • Bring a friend and a camera to document the fun.
  • Have fun! That creepy growl you heard off in the woods to your left was probably just a bunny rabbit, but there are coyotes out here.
  • If you don't put everything back properly, it'll be too easy for the next folks. You don't want that, do you?
