Winter hill - the missing link! - There are no caches on this side of Winter Hill, so I placed this on the path between Rivington Pike and Winter Hill to join the 2 caching areas together. A sister cache to my other 'Back o' beyond' to celebrate caching in remote places. This is a real walk on the wild side for those who enjoy that sort of thing, it's placed near a stream on open moorland. Some pretty poor parking may be available about a mile or so away - but this is a HIKE which ever way you do it!!! I parked at the Lower house car park and came up over the 'pike.Be sure to come here adequately clothed with good footwear and waterproofs - if it rains while you're out here you'll get very wet and there's no shelter for miles - you have been warned!! Oh and by the way - the moors can be VERY boggy round here - watch where you're putting your feet. The cache contains the usual trinkets, but for the aviation enthusiasts among you there are also a few JSF corporate baubles, amonst which is a STOVL first flight medallion - you may think it's a geocoin, but its not! I'm going to drill mine and put a TB dog tag on it , maybe you could do the same....
You seek this cache at your own risk, the countryside can be dangerous- assess the risk for yourself. If in doubt; don't
