The Simcoe County Hickling Forest Tract is a popular dog walking
area in Summer and with snow shoes in Winter. The Ontario snow
mobile trail B103 passes through it and has frequent sled traffic
so caution is needed. A great family geocaching area where more
than a half dozen caches can be found without having to use your
geomobile.
The hike will take you past reforested pine trees and some old
growth. Cache can be accessed with minimal bushwacking from one of
the logging side trails branching from the NE direction hiking
trail starting at the trail-head N44 25.574 W079 44.564.
The container is a screw top flask with the usual goodies well
stocked when placed. There is a log-book and pencil but prudence
dictates bringing a writing instrument in case the pencil lead is
broken/blunted.
