Geocache Description:

Victory Landing Park, behind the Carrier Integration building. Newport News Dept. Parks, Recreation & Tourism permit #0156

I was actually checking out another possible cache location when I found this park. This park has some wonderful views of the James River, the James River Bridge, and several naval vessels including currently, CVN-70 USS Carl Vinson. Enjoy the view!
One your way there, stop by the Victory Arch. This is where many troops enbarked for their journey to WWI and WWII. On the memorial's bronzes are listed the names of Peninsula soldiers who have lost their lives defending freedom.

NOTES: Park is open between sunrise and sunset. Good parking is at City Hall Lot (2 hr limit). Loc: N36 56.607 W076 25.848.
