Geocache Description:

A multi step cache visiting a couple of interesting pieces of public art along the way.

Original cache was a 200ml Sistema - this has been muggled. First replacement cache was a micro, 35mm film cannister containing log only. The tree this was attached to got trimmed and the cache disappeared. Current cache is a micro - keyholder. Please BYO pen or pencil.

WP1 will take you to a riverside sculpure which evoked controversy and public outcry. Is it art? You be the judge.

At WP1 gather the following information in order to locate the final cache.

A = How many objects are there in the sculpture?
BCDE = Year that the nearby seat was presented.

You will find WP2 at
S 41 16.290
E 173 17.022

At WP2 gather the following information in order to locate the final cache.

F = Number of letters in first word of latin name.
G = Number of letters in second word of latin name.
M = Number of dinornis robustus perched on top of this art work.
HJJK = Year the art work was created.
L = K - H

You will find WP3 - the final cache location - beside the Maitai River at the coordinates noted below.

S 41 BE.HLM
E 173 (F+G-1).LMH

Please replace the cache EXACTLY as found. This will hopefully prevent accidental removal.

This is the second part of our WWW3 treble. You will find the E coords in the log book in this cache.

Update: 27/11/09 - the replacement cache has gone missing too! I've had an email from a cacher that suspects that the river may have been high enough at some point to have swept it away. A NEW replacement is now in place within a couple of metres of the old caches which is positioned to avoid this problem. Please be gentle in handling this while extracting and replacing the log. If necessary refer to the new clue.

Update: 16/6/10 - the tree to which the last cache was attached has been severely pruned and the cache has disappeared. New cache placed in new location, not too far away. Note - new final location coordinates in puzzle above.

Update: 5/11/11 - replacement cache in place. Please ensure that this is replaced exactly as found or it may disappear with GZ contents...
