New Inn - What's the point? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Andalusite: This cache has been disabled for some time and as the owner has not repaired/replaced it, I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Geocache Description:

The point being “Pettingale” on the western shore of Llandegfedd Reservoir. This is the fourth in the series In and Around New Inn.

It’s a gradual descent at first then a fairly level walk through woods to the cache site along a public footpath/green lane. If the gate is open next to the house at the start of the descent there will be one stile, if not two stiles. After rain or frost it can be slippery so I suggest appropriate footwear. I am not sure how tree cover in the summer will affect the signal whilst in the woods but the cache is located on the edge so should be okay. The difficulty rating takes this into account.

The cache is a regular clip lock box, covered by a camouflage sheet .

Look out for the badger’s sett on your left as you descend. I haven’t seen any activity for a while. Years ago the footpath looked like collapsing and the footpath was diverted, hence the barbed wire.
