lamoracke: Cache was originally in a cool place but the new spot I moved it to has been problematic. Moving on. The colonel was not happy but he died 25 years ago anyway....

Geocache Description:

Decided to place my first cache on Whidbey Island today to honor the fact I have found all the active caches on Whidbey Island as of today.

The cache is located in Dan Porter Park, not far from the Whidbey Island Ferry terminals. I chose this park after I realized that nearby Deer Lake Park is not really a park in the sense I think of a park as you cant get in without trespassing! What kind of park is that?

There is plenty of parking. There are a couple of trails leading out of the grassy fields, choose one which you feel is best! There probably will be a tiny bit of bushwhacking. Please cover up the cache as you found it. Cache was an ammo can, now its a small container with barely enough room for a micro coin. I used what detritus was available to keep the squirrels away.

do not get the Colonel more upset than he already is, please find this cache and be clandestine about it

the title is a parody reference to a skit from one of my favorite shows when I was growing up. Its from 1969, episode 4, of Monty Python. The skit was called "Its A Man's Life In England's Mountain Green" which gets stopped by the grouchy Colonel who thinks they are stealing the line from the Army
