Third in the Sunday Stroll, a series of caches around Halfpenny
This micro is hidden close to the footbridge at its South Eastern end.
Again, hopefully above the flood limits!
The house passed by over the river has its own ford and footbidge across the stream and shares its name with the rectangular wood on the hillside opposite. Stang Wood and house.
Turn left and follow the beck upstream through the next couple of fields heading for the stile into the bottom of Bleasehall woods where the path climbs through a nice stretch of managed woodland. This seems to have been fairly recently coppiced in places and new planting has replaced some of the trees taken out.
