One of Fairfax County’s newer “Sportsplex” style parks; it hosts a large parking area, softball and baseball fields, volley ball court, a soccer/football field, tennis courts, a small playground area for youngsters, and small picnic area. Paved and gravel pathways wind through lowland wooded areas, and even in the urban setting, wildlife abounds. Container placement in this multi-cache adheres to the Geocaching Guidelines published by Fairfax County, please remember to stay on the established trails...bushwhacking is not required. Permission for cache placement was granted by the FCPA Park Services Division..
Park hours are dawn to dusk, do not hunt this cache at night. Stealth may be necessary depending upon the day of the week, time of day, and sport that is in season…for the most part you’ll be able to approach, retrieve, and replace the containers without drawing undue attention.
All containers are well camouflaged, and are in plain view, so there is no need to move anything or “tear up” the area when searching; however, you will have to look closely to spot them.
Being familiar with some of the advance features of your GPS receiver, simple math skills, experience and a sharp eye will go a long way in guaranteeing your success
. Bring the kids for a little exercise, and exercise your mind as well. Two more "Pleases" to ask of you: Please replace the containers exactly as they've been hidden; and Please CITO...Stratton Woods Park is a very clean little park - let's do our best to help it stay that way.
NOTICE: Please be respectful of the posted park hours. If you enter the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you can be ticketed or arrested and will put the future of geocaching in the parks in jeopardy. |
