Farnham Ramble Rally #8 – The Long Walk Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Kitey: The lack of visitors in the past few years was unfortunately making this series extremely high maintenance. On the last check 4 out of 5 caches had disappeared or were inaccessible due to changes in their locations. So time to go and free up the space for future caches. Thanks all who visited, we hope that you enjoyed the series.

Geocache Description:

Please refer to the cache notes for Farnham Ramble Rally #1 : A Starter for Ten, for general information and instructions on the entire Series.

When you have finished at FRR #7, return North to the tarmac path and head East down the narrow alleyways to St Andrews Church, the Tower of which you can see above the trees.

When at St Andrews, there are a number of clues to gather. High up on the SW corner of the Church are a number of memorial plaques. Find the memorial for Benjamin Nichols, the year of his death is “abca”.

Leave the churchyard using the alleyway that begins at the North side of the churchyard and runs North to the high street. Along this alleyway is a house named after an animal. The number of letters in the animals name is A.

Now is a good point to divert from the series and gather the other Farnham Town Centre caches if you so wish, Gostrey Meadow Micro, Hodge-Podge and Time for a Puzzle in Farnham are all nearby.

Re-group at the start of Castle Street (co-ordinates below). This is probably the most famous view in Farnham, with Georgian Buildings lining the street on both sides and Farnham Castle on top of the hill in the distance.

The cache itself can be found at :

It’s a 35 mm film case and it’s a very busy area, so a lot of stealth will be required. We suggest you move away to sign the log. Muggles can appear from many directions, so you may need to carefully plan & time your retrieval and replacement of this cache. Please make sure it is properly affixed when you have finished.

There is no clue in the cache. But close to the cache is a Farnham Heritage Trail Plaque with a number on it. This number is J.

Now refer to the Cache Notes for FFR #9 : Speck!, which give further instructions on the route and on any clues.
