Geocache Description:

There is a lot of loose rocks on the path. Please proceed with caution, presently the cache is sited before the loose rocks but this could change at any time. If it is bad, take a picture and log the cache without going down the path. Follow notes below, it is not advised to attempt this cache from the beach.

A number of Seaside resorts around Britain have tidal swimming pools which refresh with wholesome and cool sea water every high tide.
The cache is above highwater mark and should be accessed from the cliff top via the "Secret Path" carved out of the cliff at the time the pool was built in 1915.
Cache is a half litre lockbox, with room for small swaps. Discretion is called for as area is popular with tourists, and in summer at low tide the pool is used by many hardy swimmers.
Access to the pool is usually by clambering on the rocks which can be fun, but there is a special path originally to give higher tide access. The path is rarely used and regarded locally as "secret", but the lower reaches of the path have been washed away, so to exit to the beach at low tide will be on hands and knees!
Parking is available in the village, (there is even a free area adjacent to the surf life saving club on West Beach Road). The beach is a popular surfing destination with lifeguards present all days. Dogs are not permitted on the beach during the summer season. To locate the cache follow the cornish coastal footpath onto Eastcliff past Blue, the Secret Path will magically appear to those looking hard. Please take care near the cliff edge, and when descending.
The pool seems very exciting when written about in Kate Rew's book the Wild Swim (for an extract see page 11 on (visit link) )
The pool was used by Robson Green who was filmed swimming here from his TV series about wild swimming!
