KOBBERHAUGENE frembyr noen av de
flotteste panoramautsikter i Nordmarka. Denne cachen er plassert
nord på den midterste av de tre haugene, med utsikt mot nord og
nordøst. Den ligger i nærheten av Skogens
Montanus Cuprium-ache, men altså med utsikt i motsatt retning.
De to kan enkelt besøkes på samme tur, som også kan inkludere
Kobberhaugen Top Floor lenger vest.
Cachen er en modifisert militær matbeholder, festet til en lubben
unggran med kamuflasjeståltråd og en spesiell karabinkrok. Den
inneholdt opprinnelig en lydbok, en CD-plate, en elgenøkkelring og
andre godsaker.
Most people don't know this, but if
they'd ever bothered to visit the gentle hills of Kobberhaugene,
they would have some of the most spectacular views over Nordmarka.
Their loss! This cache is placed on the pleasant north face of the
center ridge. It is close to the
Montanus Cuprium cache by Skogen St., but offers a very
different view. They can be easily visited on the same trip, as can
the nearby
Kobberhaugen Top Floor.
The cache is a modified military food container, secured to a
tree with camouflage steel wire and a special carabiner. Initial
contents include an audio book, a cd record, a moose key chain, and
a few other goodies.
This cache is dedicated to
Bernhard
Herre (1812-1849), the first urban dweller to explore these
secretive forests and write about them with insight and
beauty.
