Geocache Description:

This is a Langspoon Event cache and is not available for logging until Friday 3rd April.

A short walk along a beach scattered with scallop shells!

When setting our caches along the footpath from Wormit to Balmerino, we stopped at the coast here to get the flask out and have a cup of tea and we noticed that there were lots of scallop shells all over the shore. Most were broken but there were a few whole ones too. When we walked back to Wormit, looking down from the footpath we could see that the scallop shells were spread over quite a stretch. Decided to come back again and set a cache down there!

Please note that this cache CANNOT BE ACCESSED from the "One Mile To Balmerino From The Beech" cache. You will either have to continue down the footpath to Kirkton of Balmerino and then head back along the shore from there, or alternatively you could park in Balmerino and walk along the shore path, or at "Lest We Forget Balmerino" which has a footpath marked down to the shore through the field on the corner. If you choose either of these two latter options you will pass "The River and the Erratic" cache on your way.

Go down onto the beach just east of the white house and make your way along to the cache - depending on the tide you may have to pick your way over a few rocks. I set the cache at high tide and it was still easily accessible.

Please be careful when rehiding the box - make sure that it is covered properly as there is evidence around which might indicate that this stretch of coastline is popular with people.

Cache contents at time of hiding: photo album, fish ornament, fish book, playing cards, bookmark, radio, crayons, necklace.
