Easy stroll along a well-made track to a recently re- discovered waterfall
Just 1km past Bogong Village on the High Plains Rd to Falls Creek. Park your vehicle in the designated area on the left of the Bogong High Plains Road, just before the 'orange' bridge. Carefully cross the road and take the new walking track to the falls.
An easy 20 minute walk will take you to the first viewing platform, with an adventurous section from there across the bridge to the final platform.
These falls had been long forgotten but were rediscovered following the disastrous 2003 bushfire which burned through the area and opened the falls to view from the main road.
The new walking track has been made possible mainly through the efforts of volunteers, with some support from the Victorian Govt. and Parks Vic.
You won't regret this walk as it was quite spectacular in the middle of January when placed, and there had been no rain for at least two weeks prior.
As the track has quite a steep dropoff to the river in places, I suggest a good hold on mini goekids hands' is advised.
The cache is a 400ml Sistema, and hidden near to the final viewing platform.
I took 2 GPSr's with me to try to pinpoint the GZ, and both came up miles apart after allowing them to settle for 5 minutes. Therefore, I suggest you use the hint, it won't spoil the Falls.
