;
cache du Projet R-R-R) ;
photos ;
visites ;
note, je ne pourrai pas l'enlever.
Merci !

Hi, I believe that even if that cache has been archived on
[DATE], the container is still in place.
In regards to the "R-R-R Project" (geocache GC1P5N1), I intend
to verify that cache on [DATE].
Unfortunately, Groundspeak rules prohibit me from removing the
container without the owner's consent (to get rid of it or to
recycle it in a new cache). Can the owner of this cache post a note
on this page to indicate if he's granting me the permission to
remove the container? Without this note, I won't be allowed to
remove it.
Thanks! |
The container is not at the published
coordinates. You will have to complete some tasks to log a
visit to this cache. Multiply the number of steps listed below by
ten (10) and add this result to both decimal minutes of the
published coordinates. You now have the coordinates of the
container. Then, if possible, follow and respect the instructions
you just counted.
We cannot deny geocaching has become very popular and more
people are initiated everyday. Some people will loose interest
rapidly or will simply quit after a few years of active
involvement. There may be a lot of reasons for geocachers, active
or not, to install one or more caches and then stop doing
maintenance on them. We should not judge them because we don't know
their reasons. On the other hand, these caches will eventually be
archived and will stay in their original placements until the
elements, an animal or a conscientious geocacher walks by them.
Unfortunately, in the first two cases, the container and its
content will end up in the wild. Think about the number of
installed caches and the damage which could be caused. As our
community is respectful of the environment, we'll suggest you do
your part and identify a discarded container.
To log a find on that R-R-R
Project cache, you should:
- identify a cache that has been archived since at least 30
days, but its container is still in the wild (probably
geogarbage)*;
- write a note on the archived cache page stipulating that
you intend to verify the condition of the container on a precise
date in regards to the R-R-R
Project (the note must be posted on the page at least
7 days before you plan to pay a visit to the container and it
has to indicate the date the cache was archived, the date
you plan to verify the condition of the container, a
reference to the R-R-R Project and
the GC identification number of the R-R-R
Project cache);
- find the container of the archived cache and take pictures
of it;
- find the container of the R-R-R
Project cache and sign the logbook;
- indicate the GC cache identification number for the verified
cache, its condition and include pictures of the container and its
contents in your online log for this R-R-R
Project cache.
*How can you identify an archived
cache with a container still in place? You just have to verify a
nearby archived cache that has been found after it has been
archived (look at the log dates). The container is probably still
in place. Unless the cache owner stipulates he removed the
container when he logged the archival of the cache, the container
is probably still in place. There are lists of archived caches, but
there's no way to guarantee the container is still there (see the
hint). It's also possible to see the archived caches by searching
caches placed by a specific owner on the geocaching.com site. You
may have to visit several spots before finding one, but it's worth
it (after all, it's a 4-star difficulty level cache). At the last
resort, you can always ask on a local forum and you should have
many pointers to archived caches.
To help you out, here's an example of a note which you could use
once you identified an archived cache with a container still in
place (replace [DATE] with the correct information):
Hi, I believe that even if that cache has been archived on
[DATE], the container is still in place.
In regards to the "R-R-R Project" (geocache GC1P5N1), I intend
to verify that cache on [DATE].
Unfortunately, Groundspeak rules prohibit me from removing the
container without the owner's consent (to get rid of it or to
recycle it in a new cache). Can the owner of this cache post a note
on this page to indicate if he's granting me the permission to
remove the container? Without this note, I won't be allowed to
remove it.
Thanks!

While in the area, take the opportunity to CITO a bit and remove
all the garbage around. You should not remove the container
unless you had the authorisation of the cache owner (no response
is not an authorisation), as it's not
yours and it can still be part of another treasure hunt game
(Navicache, TerraCaching, Cistes, etc.).
Of course, the archived cache that you'll verify cannot be
one of yours and cannot have been archived for the sole
purpose of logging a find on this puzzle. Although some
geocachers may decide to verify the condition of an archived cache
in a group, only one of them can log a find on this puzzle.
The reason is because we want to encourage the verification of as
much geogarbage as possible. Each verified cache can only be used
once for the purpose of this puzzle.
Don't forget to verify the condition of any stage container(s)
and/or tags, if necessary. Thanks!
The R-R-R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)
Project was born following an awakening from some
geocaching members. Other similar caches could be created in
different regions of the Province of Québec and/or provinces and/or
countries. If you're interested in participating to the
R-R-R Project by hiding a cache
in your region, please copy the exact code of that cache and let
cron or
Landbehrt know about your initiative. We can
also provide you with the HTML code to help you out.
The goal of this project is not to fingerpoint "bad" cache
owners. Please make sure to watch your writings in your logs.
