Cache is situated on the Southern End of Long Hill 2km from The Crinoline (Mt Ligar). In a pile of rocks
This cache is not for the casual stroller. You will need navigation skills and reasonable fitness. The track disappears at times and the walk involves rock scrambling, including some small cliffs and lots of pushing a way through thick bushfire regrowth.
We came in via Mt Tamboritha but climbing The Crinoline and then heading North over the ridge to Long Hill would an easier option. Doing this route is about 8km each way.The change in elevation between Melbourne Grammar School Camp which is the preferred start point and the cache is 850m. Not far from the cache is a campsite with water available most of the year and a spectacular waterfall. This cache could possibly be done as a day walk but it would be a big day. The best views of The Crinoline can be had from the cache site. Good luck.
