Old Calaveras Cement Bridge Coin Cache Traditional Cache
planehappy: It is truly gone. Since there seems to be a trail to the cabin now and lots of toilet paper around, it's not an ideal spot to hide a container big enough to hold travel bugs. Luckily there were no trackables in the container when it went missing. I guess someone really needed a painted tupperware container. Thanks to all who visited.

Our old container here was a very sneaky container provided by JerryW38. However, construction on the bridge earlier this year permanently buried the cache in the gravel and mud.
This cache is bigger and is moved to a different location, providing a new opportunity to log a cache at this location.
Since it is also very conveniently located, it is now a coin trading cache, that I will try to keep stocked. TB's are also welcome but might not fit if there are a lot or if they're big. Please feel free to trade coins but leave one or two for the next finder. (Yes...I'm talking to you SonoraZark! )
According to a the information I found on the internet, the Old Calaveras Cement Bridge is a historical part of our County, as was the Calaveras Cement Plant, which opened in 1926 and closed in 1983. The Calaveras Cement Plant not only employed a large percentage of the County's population, but its production helped to build many of California's Military installations during World War II. Other major projects included the Oakland Bay Bridge, competition sites for the 1960 Olympics at Squaw Valley, Pardee and Friant Dams, the Altamont Pass, and the Parrotts Ferry Bridge over the Stanislaus River.
Occasionally you can see trucks carrying gravel pass over Highway 49 on this bridge and when I used GoogleEarth to look at this area it seems like the road to this bridge begins off Pool Station Road in San Andreas and ends somewhere near Fricot City.
The best place to access this cache is if you're coming FROM Angels Camp and then pull off the road to the right before you get to the bridge. Traffic moves fast here so please be careful.
