Geocache Description:

A cache located close to the road. From the cache location you can see Dunruchan Farm. The hills around the farm contain several standing stones.

In the early 1700's Dunruchan Farm was home to the Malloch's, who were related to the MacGregors including Rob Roy MacGregor. Before 1711 Rob Roy was a cattle drover bringing his cattle to the annual Drovers Tryst, or cattle market in Crieff.
The Mallochs had for many years been settled in the farm. They were people of great respectability, and of considerable wealth for their station. In 1715, they were concerned in the raising of the standard of the Chevalier de St. George; and again in 1745.

Craggan Camp is a Scout Campsite in the woods close to the cache, in a natural wooded area and is just ideal for outdoor activities, backwoods shelters, cooking on wood fires. The Scouts have renewed one of the buildings and have installed renewable energy lighting to minimise the risk of fire in these wooden buildings. Care should be taken if searching for the cache when the camp is in use.

When we were placing the cache we came across a large container which would have made an ideal cache container - however we decided it was maybe the farmer's letter box!

The cache is a small lock n lock style box containing a log book and pencil, with room for small swaps, tbs & coins.

*Congratulations to Spacepunk & Lednock Duck on being joint First to Find on a family day out*
