Honeymoon Gap #3 in the 'Gaps Around Alice Springs' Series
This cache is located in a well known local picnic spot, Honeymoon Gap. Honeymoon Gap was given its name in the 1940s when a local couple camped out here for several weeks as their honeymoon.
The Gap is also a sacred site to Central Arrernte people, and is associated with Perentie (Goanna) Dreaming. From here the Perentie man travelled to Simpson's Gap. It's Arrernte name is angatyepe (pronounced ung-ah-chupah).
