A small loch with an appropriate name.
A duckpond and marshland hidden under a strip of trees between agricultural land. Fed by a spring at the roadside.
Bring your wellies for plodging around in the swamp or crossing the burn, will also protect your legs from the brambles just springing into growth.
Plenty of wildlife to watch including birds, ducks and deer.
The area is totally unmanaged, boggy and overgrown, yet is a lovely quiet oasis to enjoy.
Follow along the footpath and then enter the woods by crossing the burn, or by continuing alongside the fields to the top of the strip of wood, and down the other side of the field before finding a low part of the barbed wire fence and enter into the trees that way.
