Geocache Description:

Drsolly's Robot Arm

The coords at the top of the page, are for Little Chalfont station, on the Metropolitan line, and about a mile from the cache. Or if you're coming by car, visit At Your Convenience - Little Chalfont where there is a convenient parking spot (you might need to pay).

For this cache, you will be operating a Robot Arm, over the internet, and you'll be able to see what you're doing via a webcam. You won't need to install any software, and it will work with any browser. You can see what this looks like here.

On that page, you can switch on the power. But that's all you can do, all the other controls are disabled.

To get control, you have to solve the first puzzle.

The first step is to identify the following robots.

Robot name Picture
Robot01
Robot02
Robot03
Robot04
Robot05
Robot06
Robot07
Robot08

When you've worked out the robot names, you need a letter from each robot.

Robot01 - 6th letter

Robot02 - 1st letter

Robot03 - 4th letter

Robot04 - 3rd letter

Robot05 - 3rd letter of 11 letters, not "tin man" or "tin woodsman"

Robot06 - 1st letter

Robot07 - 2nd letter

Robot08 - 5th letter

That gives you 8 letters. Now you need to anagram a single word out of those letters.

That gives you a password. Your username is the name of the robot in Planetfall. All letters are lower case.
Go here, and now you have control of the Robot Arm.

And that lets you do the second part of the cache. You need to find a micro. There's not many hiding places, it's pretty obvious where it is. But the difficulty is in using the robot arm to retrieve the micro from its hide. And then, please, replace it as found.

When you've completed that, you have another word.

Now go here. Your username is the name of the first industrial robot, your password is the word you've just discovered.

And now you can get your boots on and go find the Ammo can. Or send your robot to do it.
