Who's On My Bridge! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Snyder Bear: Seems the bridge and this cache container washed away this past summer. I'll archive this until either a new bridge is built or I can change it's story some..

Geocache Description:

Do you remember the Norwegian fairy tale of the "Three Billy Goats Gruff?

One day not long ago, three goats named Gruff, decided they needed to go across the valley to gather their share of grass. In order to do so though, they needed to cross a formidable bridge no one dared cross alone. It had long been known, that under this bridge lived an ugly old troll that loved to eat lonesome passerby. And to those unaware, he would reach up through the cracks of the old wooden trestle and grab the helpless victims by their leggings. And so the story goes… The youngest goat, knowing nothing little of this, crosses the bridge and is threatened by the troll but is spared when he tells the troll that his brothers are larger and more gratifying as a feast. The middle goat sees that the youngest one has crossed and reaches the conclusion that the bridge must be safe after all, but when he crosses and the troll challenges him, he too tells him of his eldest brother. When the eldest and largest of them attempts to cross, the troll comes out to seize him but is gored by his horns and knocked into the river. From that time on the bridge is safe, and all three goats are able to go to the rich fields of grass... Of course the goats are now long gone.. But the Troll, yes the Ugly Troll still remains… The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Peter Bakken, Black River State Forest Superintendent.
