Located on a bike trail in Bonita Lakes Park, Meridian, Ms
Why is this called "Snake Wrangling at Bonita Lakes"? Here's why!!! The kids and I was walking down this bike trail going over to the other island in this nice park looking for another place to hide a geocache and as I crossed the branch I stepped just a couple feet from a moccasin, no I'm not talking about the shoes, a very large cottonmouth water moccasin. My son was behind me and he saw it, he hollowed out and got my attention and everyone else's in the park. There was a couple of fishermen in a boat close by and we certainly had them wondering what was go on as I was beating that snake to it death. Thank God he saw it or someone could have been seriously injured. I was wondering what I was going to title this cache as we were going to place it. After this experience I could not think of a better title. So as you walk to this cache be on the watch out for snakes, however this particular snake will pose no threat to anyone or anything ever again. NOTICE THAT I HAVE THE SNAKE ATTRIBUTE TICKED!!!! TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!!!!
This walk will take you about one mile round trip of you follow the bike trails that wind around the top of the hills around the lake shore, however you can cut off some by walking through the valleys as we did when we placed the cache.
I guess you were wondering about the cache, it's a lock'nlock plastic container, painted camo. Contains a couple of items for trade and a log sheet. BYOP
