Geocache Description:

Please come to Ann Arbor and assist us un cleaning up 3 parks in the area. We will be meeting at the parking lot in West Park at the above coordinates at 10am and will divide into 3 teams to conquer CITOs in 3 local parks.

Hannah Park is located 1 block West of West Park. The closest address to this Nature Area is 1080 Bath Street. The easiest way to get there is to walk from West Park or to park along the street on the West side of West Park at this coordinate: N 42 17.061, W 083 45.527. A cursory inspection leads me to believe that 2-4 people could clean up this small nature area in ~2 hours. Terrain: Trail leads down into gully and follws the center of a valley between houses. Trash pickup will mainly be up and down the sides of the valley. Bags of collected trash can be left at the park for NAP pickup.

Maryfield Wildwood Park is a few blocks further West of West Park and is another small Nature Area. The closest address to this Park is 300 Wilton Street. A cursory inspection of this park leads me to believe that 2-4 people could clean up all the trash in this park in ~2 hours. Terrain: Trail leads down into gully and follws the center of a valley between houses and emerges into an open field with a basketball court. Trash pickup will mainly be up and down the sides of the valley and a quick once over of the field. Bags of collected trash can be left at the park for NAP pickup.

Bluffs Park is a short drive North of West Park and there is ample parking at the Elks Club parking lot located at 236 Sunset Road. There is some large trash located in abundance in this park and this is where we need the most help. The terrain is hilly and the hikes are long to haul the heavy, bulky, trash out. I will perform a more detailed inspection of the park and post GPS coordinates of trash removal sites on this cache page prior to the event date. Bags of collected trash can be left at the park for NAP pickup.

If teams from the 2 small nature areas are able to complete their CITOs quickly then they can meet the larger group at Bluffs Park.

We will all meet back at West Park at 2pm with the intent of having a little potluck picnic. I will get some hot dogs and stuff to grill. Other picnic items would be appreciated but not neccessary. Bring water to stay hydrated while CITO-ing. Leather gloves may also help.
