Geocache Description:

One of several caches set to promote the Walsall Cachers Meet in the Black Country on Thursday 16th April 2009.

The Brownhills Miner was designed by artist John Mckenna. He is a 30 foot high silver sculpture of a 19th century miner, complete with pick axe in his out stretched arm.
The sculpture weighs 5 tonnes, and was installed in 2006. 'Jigger' as he is known commemorates those who worked in local pits over the last three centuries. At night the Brownhills Miner is flood lit.
It is very busy around the GZ adults and children should take extra care
This is one of two caches celebrating notable landmarks of Walsall
I would be grateful if someone could add a picute of the Brownhills Miner - many thanks

The cache is a small magnetic key holder containing ONLY a log, you will need to bring a pen or pencil. A FTF prize will be presented at the Walsall Cachers Meet on 16/4/09

A Miner Triumph for Izzy and the Lizard King FTF at 1.30am many congratulations hope you can make the Walsall cachers-meet to collect your prize. The night time pics are fab too.
Thankyou also for your thoughtfulness in leaving the Darlaston Town Hall. The morcoms are thrilled with their first FTF.
Well done The Mighty Shark on a very Noble STF at 7.30am
See you all on 16/4
