Geocache Description:

The cache is located at Murhut Falls Trailhead #828 in the Duckabush area of Olympic National Forest. You're looking for a waterproof matchstick container hidden about 25' up the trail from the wooden sign. The trail leads to a viewpoint, with a bench for resting and a spectacular view of the falls.

Take Highway 101 to Duckabush Road, where a sign will point you to the Duckabush Recreation Area. Follow this road for 6.2 miles to FS Rd. #2530, turn right and drive 1.3 miles to the trailhead. There is a small parking area across the road. A Northwest Forest Pass is not required here.

Murhut Falls plunges down a mossy wall into a small pool lined with huge cedar trees. The hike to the falls is 3/4 mile on a well maintained trail with a moderate grade. There are two other geocaches there. Beware of the steep drop-off, use caution and keep a close eye on children and pets. DO NOT LEAVE THE TRAIL. Dress appropriately, and practice "Leave No Trace" techniques during your visit. Be safe and have fun!
