Boundary Obelisk at south Lantau (嶼南界碑) at Kau Ling Chung (狗嶺涌), Lantau.
This is a small obelisk set up in 1902 to state the south boundary of Lantau, after British “BORROWED” Lantau Island from China in 1898 under “The Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory”

THIS STONE IS IN LONGITUDE 113°52’0” E. FIXED BY LIEUT AND COMR F. M. LEAKE R. N. AND THE OFFICERS OF H. M. S “BRAMBLE”FROM HERE THE BOUNDARY FOLLOWS THE WESTERN SHORE OF LANTAU ISLAND UNTIL IT MEETS A SIMILAR STONE ERECTED IN THE SAME LONGITUDE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE ISLAND SOUTHWARD. THE BOUNDARY EXTENDS TO THE PARALLEL OF 22°9’0” N.
This stone is placed 200 feet above H W mark for the purpose of protecting it from possible inroads of the sea
此界石安豎在大嶼山南方, 即東經線一百一十三度五十二分。自此界石正南潮漲處起點, 沿大嶼山西南面一帶海岸, 向南直至北緯線二十二度九分。大英一千九百零二年, 曾帶霸林保兵艦水師總兵力, 會同本艦員弁等, 勘明界址, 共立此界石。

There is another boundary Obelisk found in north Lantau, at a hill near Tai O
The container is a small round Lock n Lock, which painted in black. Please bring your own pen.
P.S.
In case you could like to hike/walk from Shek Pik, via Fan Lau to Tai O, most path is quite flat, but usually take 4-6 hours, so please bring enough supply (drinks, snacks, as well as lunch pack (if needed)), even there is a small store in Fan Lau Village offer soft drinks, but I’m not sure its business hour, so please consider it is a bonus in case it is open., but not rely on.
Also, part of the path from Fan Lau to Tai O is quite "natural" (i.e. not destroyed by concrete path).
