Originally an easy two-stage multi-cache, the first stage has been retired. Coordinates take you directly to the second / final stage. The cache is an old military ammo can (7" x 11" x 5.5") with a log and swag for the kids.
We named this one for the awesome sunsets we have seen from the ridge.![Crafton Hills Sunset](http://imgcdn.geocaching.com/cache/large/61ea1ec3-da04-472e-a455-e824465fdce4.jpg)
Follow the paved section of Crafton Hills Ridge Trail north (from Lot 'H') up towards the water tower. It's an easy hike (0.4 miles / 145 vertical feet). Satellite photos of campus show how the area has really changed over the last 10 years. There used to be a marked Trailhead along a trail east of the driveway to Lot 'J' - but that now dead ends at one of the solar arrays. Be sure to follow posted rules when parking on campus. During breaks parking is usually free, but a day pass may be required when classes are in session. As of May 2018 a day pass was still only $2.
