Parking co-ords N51 02.084 W002 15.712
This is cache number 4 of 6,
The walk is flat grassland, no hills or slopes, but most of the area is very wet most of the time, and wellies or stout waterproof walking boots are a good footwear option for all of these 6 caches,

Field gateways can be especially boggy and because the footpaths are very narrow it is not accessible to buggies or wheelchairs. Children need close supervision if they are not to get their wellies lost in the mud.

This cache is a small container with a log book and some small swaps, (bring your own pen) just inside the edge of the wood, about 40ft from the outer path. Once you have found the cache you can walk along the inner path to the gateway back out, or come back out over the bank and along the outer path, On a nice day the views across to Shaftesbury and Duncliffe are lovely.
The wood is much smaller now than it would have been in years gone by, all native species of trees and shrubs.
No trees in here are more than 60yrs old. 60yrs ago sparks from a train going along the railway line along the edge of the wood set fire to the whole lot. It burnt for many days, smoke and flames could be seen for miles.
