Nei territori di Ales, Marrubiu, Masullas, Morgongiori, Palmas
Arborea, Pau, Santa Giusta, Siris, Usellus, Villaurbana, Villaverde
si estende il Parco del monte Arci. Il massiccio è una delle
maggiori formazioni vulcaniche plio-pleistoceniche isolane (12-0,01
milioni di anni fa). La struttura di base è trachitica, mentre le
colate basaltiche hanno dato luogo alla formazione dei
caratteristici torrioni di Trebina Longa (812 m) e Trebina Lada
(795 m). Nella zona si possono incontrare vari animali selvatici,
cinghiali, volpi, gatti selvatici, martore, donnole, ed era un
tempo popolata da cervi e daini (oggi in ripopolamento). Ricca
l’avifauna: colombacci, ghiandaie, upupe corvi, cornacchie,
numerosi fringillidi; tra i rapaci il falco pellegrino, lo
sparviero, l’astore, il gheppio, il falco grillaio. In the
territories of Ales, Marrubiu, Masullas, Morgongiori, Palmas
Arborea, Pau, Santa Giusta, Siris, Usellus, Villaurbana, Villaverde
is extended the Arci mountain park. The massive is one of the
biggest vulcaniche plio-pleistoceniche formations of the island
(12-0,01 millions of years ago). The basic structure is trachytic
while you strain them basaltic (795 mt) gave place to the formation
of the characteristic Trebina Longa embattleds towers (812 mt) and
Trebina Lada. The area is populated by boars, foxes; wild cats,
martens, weasel and some time ago even by deer and fallow deer (now
restocking). Its avifauna is abundant: ringdoves, jays, hoopoes,
ravens, crows and a variety of fringillids; birds of prey include
peregrine falcons, sparrow hawks, goshawks, kestrels and lesser
