This is our first hide and should be an easy find for all ages and experience levels, short walk
This cache is dedicated to the people buried here at Mount Enon Cemetery. There was no cache recognizing this fine piece of history! So we decided to place our first cache here!
MOUNT ENON CEMETERY PLAQUE READS
RESERVED ON MAY 1, 2007 AS THE FIRST NEGRO CHURCH BURIAL GROUND OF FORMER MEMBERS OF MOUNT ENON BAPTIST CHURCH OF EVANS, GEORGIA. SOME GRAVES DATE BACK TO THE EARLY 1800’S AND THE LAST KNOWN BURIAL TOOK PLACE SOME SEVENTY YEARS AGO. BOTH FREE AND SLAVE NEGROES, THEY TOO, IN LOYAL SERVICE SHARE THE BUILDING OF THE EVANS COMMUNITY.
