Ulla fyr ligger på Kvernholmen lengst nord på Haramsøya. Det ble opprettet som et "fiskefyr" etter forespørsel fra "den fiskende almue i Haram". Fyrbyningen sto klar høsten 1873 og 25. januar 1874 ble lyset tent. Rundt 1890 fikk fyret økt brennetid og stasjonen ble derfor oppgradert til familiestasjon med bolig, uthus, naust med båtopptrekk og et lite fjøs. I 1929 fikk fyret elektrisk kraft fra Haram el-verk. I oktober 1944 ble fyrstasjonen skadet p.g.a. skyting fra allierte fly. Både fyr og bolig ble truffet. I 1950 ble stasjonen gjenoppygd, denne gang med et jernbetongtårn på 6x6 meter inredd med vaktrom, maskinrom og tavlerom. På toppen ble det montert en støpejernslykt av den typen som man så ofte ser langs norskekysten. Ny bolig ble også satt opp.Gangbroen mellom Kverholmen og Haramsøya ble bygge noen år senere. Fyret bel autometisert og avfolket i 1975. fyret ble vernet i 2000.

Ulla lighthouse is located on the Kvernholmen island far north on Haramsøya. The lighthouse was established 1873-74 and the first light appeared on Januar 25th, 1874. Around 1890 the station was upgraded with a house for a family, an additional smaller house, a boat house and a small barn. In 1929 the station was powered with electricity from Haram. In october 1944 the lighthouse was damaged by shooting from allied aircrafts. Both the lighthouse and the familiy house was hit. In 1950 the station was reerected, this time with the tower as you can see it today, with an iron cast lamp housing on top. This type of light housing you can see all along the coastline. The walking bridge between Kverholmen and Haramsøya was built a few years later. The lighthouse was automated in 1975, and protected by law in 2000.
