Geocache Description:

Cache is a magnetic micro with a log and pencil. Wheelchair friendly, but the last few feet are on grass.

Access 4 on the Lower Bann.

Portglenone (Irish – Port Chluain Eoghain) meaning landing place of Glenone was once a centre for the linen industry, a grass seed market and salmon fishing. The town is now a bustling local shopping and service centre.
Northern Ireland’s only Cistercian Monastery which is located on the edge of the town was founded in 1948 along with its parklands and 300 acre farm. Here the monks live a secluded, contemplative life in which prayer holds a central position. The monastery which attracts thousands of visitors every year has a guesthouse for those wishing to make short retreats, a repository, a gift shop and a coffee shop.
