Hid in Oyama, a few metres off a trail, this "teddy bear" themed cache is to replace the Teddy Bear Lodge cache which was across the lake from here. It also has the usual logbook, pencil and geocache stash note and the 3-Bearss' Bear Geocoin.
The cache is in a lunch box that contains all kinds of teddy bears that we have picked up while geocaching, ranging from small stuffed ones, to plastic ones, to keychains, and to pins. Please try to stick with the theme if possible.
This is off a small trail along the shoreline, but you can park near the washrooms and still reach it. This trail is great to walk your dog or find a secluded beach or fishing spot.
Wood Lake is a popular lake for water skiing and fishing, and is joined to Kalamalka Lake by a canal in Oyama which boaters can travel on. In the winter, the lake along the highway is busy with ice fishermen trying their luck. Regretably there was a drowning accident of an ice fisherman only a few weeks ago and not too far from here.
