Geocache Description:

Interesting Circular Forest Walk. Approx. 1 hour.

The walk starts past a new pond and picnic area, heading down through mixed woodland of Scots Pine to reach the Skelbo Burn.

The path has been opened up closer to the burn to reveal fine views over the North Sea coast, and in the summer there is a spectacular show of wild flowers close to the burn.

Major features of the walk are the carved wooden animals and birds designed by local children – see how many you can spot.

Other interesting things on the walk are the hydraulic ram, once used to pump water to neighbouring farms, and the remains of a 2000 year old Broch beside the path.

During the summer months the short walk between the path and the cache can become quite overgrown so walk with care and watch for holes. The terrain rating has been increased.

Enjoy the view from the Cache.
