Confederation Park Constitutional Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

GeoKs: Well, this one's had a good run...almost 6 years. Appreciate the suggestion that we find a new location and update the puzzle accordingly, but it's very hard to find a spot with adequate spacing from other Confederation Park geocaches. So, it's time to archive this one.

Geocache Description:

While scouting Confederation Park for the May 2, 2009 WWFM V – C of Red Event, we discovered several plaques and signs installed near the paved walking trails. Information on some of these signs should put you on the trail to a cache we later hid in the park.

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. The posted coordinates are for the first of three locations you will need to visit to collect information to work out the coordinates for the cache container.

The cache is hidden at N51 04.3AB W114 05.2CD

WHAT YOU NEED TO LEARN:

STOP 1: There is a short (8 word) quotation on the plaque for this time capsule. Count the number of times the letter “b” occurs in the quotation = B.

STOP 2. There are two plaques here.
First, determine what grade Ben Madsen was in when he presented the idea and contents for the Canada 125 time capsule = A.
Now identify which date in September the “Flowers Canada” plaque is dated. Add one to this number = D.

STOP 3. This memorial garden is dedicated to a specific individual. Count the number of times the letter “e” occurs in this person’s LAST name = C. There are a few benches here where you can sit down to work out the coordinates for the cache container and enter them into your GPSr.

Your total walking distance from Stop 1 to the cache container will be a little under a km – a reasonable “constitutional”. The cache container is a camo-taped water bottle, about 1 litre in size.
