This offset cache is located in Lyons Forest Home Cemetery, deeded in 1861. The first interment was Johann Hockrein, age 42, in 1852. Another hill in the "Holyland"!
The coordinates will take you to a unique marker with a plaque that faces away from the road.
Carl Friedrich Gustav Wernicke was born in Germany. He came to America in 1857, married in 1859, fathered 10 children from 1860-1878, was a soldier in the German Army and Civil War, as well as being a farmer, Justice, and County Treasurer. I guess he had a "full life"!
Seek the offset container 230 feet WEST of the plaque. It may get covered with snow in winter.
