Katlaberget er et mye besøkt turmål på Os som passer for både store og små. Toppen er ca. 102 meter høy og det går turstier opp hit både fra Lekven/Ferstad og Halhjem/Vargavågen. For å komme til Katlaberget tar en av fra E39 mellom Osøyro og Halhjem på vei som er skiltet med Lunde og Lekven. Det går an å gå opp til toppen både fra sørsiden og norsiden. Dersom en velger å gå opp fra sørsiden, starter en turen fra Torkjelsvegen og går derfra ned Sjøsdalen til Vargavågen, og deretter på merket tursti opp til toppen. Et fint alternativ er å først gå innover grusveien fra Lekven/Ferstad mot Ferstadneset som ligger nord for Katlaberget. På høyre side av grusveien vil en da finne en merket tursti som går opp til Katlaberget. På veien passerer du den gamle feriekolonien på Ferstad, som er et lekeeldorado i naturen for barn. Et tredje alternativ er å starte turen lenger sør, fra Halhjem/Vargavågen. Da kan en få med seg både Bjørnen/Halhjem helleristningsfelt, klebersteinsbruddet Vargaholo og en gammel buheller på veien.
Katlaberget is a very popular hiking area in Os that is nice for both children and adults. The top is approximately 102 meters high and you will find hiking trails from both Lekven/Farstad and Halhjem/Vargavågen. To get to Katlaberget, drive along the E39 from Osøyro to Halhjem, and turn left to Lunde and Lekven. The top og Katlaberget is accessible from both the south and the north side. If you choose the south side, start from Torkjelsvegen and walk down Sjøsdalen to Vargavågen. From here follow the marked hiking trail up to the top. A nice alternative is to first walk along the gravel road from Lekven/Ferstad towards Ferstadneset, in the north of Katlaberget. On the right hand side of the road you will find a marked hiking trail up to Katlaberget. Along the road you will pass the old holiday colony at Ferstad, this is a very nice playground in the nature for children. A third alternative is to start the trip further south, from Halhjm/Vargavågen. Then you can also visit Bjørnen/Halhjem rock carving field, the soap stone mine "Vargaholo" and an old "buheller" on the way to Katlaberget.
