Cockleroy or Cuckold-Le-Roi.
A conspicuous crag-and-tail in West Lothian, Cockleroy Hill rises steeply from the west to a height of 278m (912 feet) in the northwest of Beecraigs Country Park. At its summit is a Bronze Age hill-fort known as Wallace's Bed or Wallace's Cradle, which is very similar in structure to another on the nearby Bowden Hill. It is believed that William Wallace rested within here during his conquests. The name of the hill is supposed, in Glennie's Arthurian Localities (1869), to refer to Guinevere's betrayal of the Blameless King.
At the summit you have fantastic views over the Forth from Kincardine Bridge to The Forth Bridges and, on a particularly good day, as far as North Berwick. Within the plains you will see Linlithgow and its stunning palace.
