Geocache Description:

Tawa entry sign

12-15 minutes north of central Wellington - by both motorway or commuter train - lies the community of Tawa with 14,175 residents (2013 census), the northenmost suburb of New Zealand's capital city, and geographically seperated from the rest of Wellington.

Very much a family-oriented community, Tawa has a good range of schools including a highly regarded College, a wide range of sporting and recreational facilities, and is home to at least three of Wellington's most active geo-cachers, whose houses are all visible from GZ. All in all this is a very pleasant valley in which to live, with affordable housing and a strong community spirit.

The cache is located in Rossaveel Heights at a purpose built lookout opened by the Mayor of Wellington on 27 February 2005. It is a short and easy walk from Kilkelly Close and is well sign-posted. The cache itself is a black 350ml snap-lock container. Please tuck back up so it isn't easily discovered by muggles. Thank you.

The shrubs and trees are starting to gain some height so the views are being constricted from the platform, but have a wander down and around in front to check out the sights.
