Geocache Description:

You are seeking a sandwich size Lock 'n' Lock. Please be respectful. Cemetery hours are Dawn to Dusk. Please cover as well or better than you found it.

Farmersville Cemetery 1872. A decent size cemetery but it appears a lot of the older small stones haves been broken and can be seen in various stacks around the cemetery.

Cache can hold TB's, coins, and trade items. I forgot to add some trade items so all it starts with is the logbook and a Red Jeep.

FARMERSVILLE CEMETERY FORD COUNTY, IL

In 1863, the directors of the Augustana College and Theological Seminary decided to move the institution from Chicago to Paxton, and with that move Swedith people moved to this area. Some who were farmers settled in the southwestern part of Patton Twp, and alsmost immediately erected a church and school house. Those buildings were located on the east side of Section 30. A cemetery was established about one half mile west. This settlement was called Farmersville. A three acre tract of land was purchased for the cemetery. Part of this is planted in crops; the proceeds from the sale of these is used in the care of the cemetery. The first burial was that of a child, Nels A., son of P. & C.H. Nelson, January 12, 1862.
