This cache is part of a series we placed along the Risley Pond Loop Trail, a portion of the Shenipsit blue-blazed trail system, located in the towns of Vernon and Bolton, CT. The hike is moderately difficult with wet, muddy and rocky terrain. The northern portion of the loop is steep and we therefore recommend following the trail counterclockwise.
The parking area, big enough for about 10 cars, is located northwest of the pond. From here follow the blue-blazes toward the pond and then continue along the eastern shore. The trail then heads east into the woods near the dam.
You are looking for a winter-friendly-camouflaged match container hidden just off the trail.
