"Cherryland" is located at Meek Park in Cherryland.
Cherryland is a 1.2 sq mile unicorporated area of Alameda County generally between Hayward and San Leandro. There used to be vast orchards of fruit and nut trees belonging to the "First Farmer" of Alameda County, William Meek. Cherryland is bordered by Mission, Lewelling, A Street and Meekland. There are accounts that the Bing Cherry originated here, named after a Chinese cook or foreman-Ah Bing. There remains a Cherryland Park, Cherryland Elementary School and Cherry Way. No businesses bearing the name Cherryland remain, except for Sam's Cherryland Grocery (Blossom/Western) Within the past decade or so there still was a Cherryland Motors on Mission, and a Cherryland Cafe on Meekland.
"Cherryland" the cache is located in Meek Park, located on Hampton, home of the Meek Estate (1870) The grounds include that Victorian mansion, a fountain, a few remaining fruit trees and the park run by the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (HARD)
Look into the cache, and you can almost see the fruit of Cherryland.
