_-: This was a one time event. Thanks to everyone who came. It was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to seeing some more events of this type in our area. :-)

Geocache Description:

This is a 15 Minute Flash Mob Geocache Mini-Event.

The Union Flash Mob Caching Event will take place at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 30, 2009

The Basic Idea: A "Flash Mob" Gathering of Geocachers. Only 15 minutes long! You MUST be present and sign a log sheet DURING this time to claim the event. Please BYOP! (Bring your own pen)

This Flash Mob Event is designed to bring together geocachers and introduce others (newbies) to geocaching.

You're heard of MEGA-EVENTS? This is quite the opposite in a variety of ways.

The event will last EXACTLY 15 minutes, not one second longer.

The event will begin precisely at 10:30 am on May 30, 2009. The coordinates for this event are in an open public space.

The Plan:

At exactly 10:30 am all geocachers are to converge, seeming to come out of "nowhere". **grin** One volunteer will hand out "log sheets". Participants will sign the log sheets (which will later become a log book), to qualify for attendance and drop them in a designated collection box. Bring a pen.
At a designated time, we will toss out Hershey candy to all in attendance for the event "meal".
At a designated time, we will take a group photo.
At a designated time we will draw for FTF honors (from the log sheets)
At precisely 10:45 the log sheets will be packed up and sealed away and the event area will be vacated without a trace!!!
Events that happen after 10:45:01 do not count as part of THIS event.

Only those participants whose names appear on the log sheets may log the event.

PLEASE tell your friends and help promote the event! It takes more than one person to make a mob so if nobody shows up I'm gonna be standing there by myself looking stupid.

Suggestion: COME EARLY TO FIND PARKING.

Note: Although participants are welcome to get together after the event, the event will officially be over at 10:45. Afterwards, at the meeting, participants may chat, meet, eat and plan for a day of caching!!!

There are currently 8 other geocaches within a mile or so of this location so if you haven’t cached this area it would be a great day to pick some up. If you're coming from the city or elsewhere, there are plenty of caches to pick up along the way.

I'm sure there will be several muggles nearby who will wonder "What did I just see? What just happened?" (That's part of the fun!)

One last thing! There will be a Trading Bucket there for trading items like Travel Bugs, Travel Coins, and other Geocaching related items. Please bring quality stuff.

Thanks for coming everyone. It was nice to put some faces with "names". Now I know who to look out for when I'm racing for my next FTF. LOL.

We officially had 32 in attendance. The photo shows 30 but I was behind the camera and one had car trouble coming from Jeff City and she got in at the last minute. Keep CACHING and I hope to see you out on the trail of my next find.
