Along the 5-mile Creek
I hiked this trail with my 5 year old son a couple weeks ago. We had fun and found an old miner's den that we felt needed a cache. We were going up again so I threw a cache together really quick.
Park at N 43 37.856 W 116 06.384. This cache is about 1.24 miles up the trail. Pretty easy hike--my three year old came with me to hide this one. You will have to cross the creek 3 times--but we were able to make it across the rocks and/or branches laying across the creek. We had walking sticks which really helped us balance while crossing.
The miner's den itself gets a little too much attention, so I had to hide the cache up the hill a bit. The cache is in plain sight if viewed from the right angle. Enjoy the hike and watch for animals (we saw three deer on the way back).
The cache has some paracord lanyards and bracelets, and I put two jeep tb'sin the cache as well. I've had the jeeps for way too long. I forgot about them and went inactive for a while. Its about time to get them back out into circulation.
