It was an early and quiet morning, glimmering mist sneaked on the field. Ivan opened his eyes slowly, peeked around in confusion and tried to remember where he is. He turned his head left and right, noticed asphalted road around him. He stretched his hand and heard glass bottles braking and rolling happily everywhere. In his sunburnt face, which had a deep scarf on his left cheek, his eyes went big as quarters. Ivan closed his eyes for a second but when he opened them gain, nothing had changed. He was sitting in a tractor, steering wheel next to his stomach, padding pushing out from the eat. Where he had got the machine, he didn't remember.
He started to remember yesterdays adventure, how he had bought 2 crate of beers with his friend Jura from a shop near Jägala or Jugala, to celebrate getting a new job. Aunt Ella needed somebody to cut trees, she promised to pay well, but something was missing that he was supposed to get. What was it, he couldn't remember. He barely remembered instructions to go straight on the road all the time, just once to the left and once to the right.
"Dammit", he whispered through teeth and turned the ignition. A slow whistling sound, engine sputtered a few times and started. "Got to go now", he thought, put hat better on his head and pressed the accelerator into the floor. Tractor made a rough start and went along the asphalt, speedometer showed exactly 18 km/h and Ivan drove it with a steady pace towards goal. He had went exactly half way when he heard a loud noise. Hard brake, he stopped the machine and listened. "Crap! Dammit, one barrel fell, dammit" he yelled behind the wheel, but accelerated again and kept driving, speedometer showing exactly 9 km/h. Machine shouted and shook with nothing good on its mind, scary black smoke went into the air, but the speed stayed the same.
After last turn, he stopped the tractor, jumped out and landing on the asphalt, a shot of pain went through Ivan's head. But he was happy, he had found what he was looking for. Looking at the watch, a sweet smiley went over his bearded face, it had taken exactly 10 minutes for the drive. With a dignified move he took out his smokes, lit one and took a deep breath. Slowly he walked towards the goal, old brown shoes making noises in the wet grass...
