Third grade completes a study unit on birds. One year, the 3rd grades in my school made a competition to see who could spot the most birds of each species during the week of April 15-22.
Joseph and his twin sister Hailey tied for 1st place with their numbers. But then, their peers started to complain that they had cheated. The twins quickly explained that they had traveled to the Bronx Zoo with their family. At the zoo, they had seen many enclosures housing birds of all kinds. They didn't think they had cheated because they only counted birds in the enclosures that were native to their home area.
What do you think? Did they cheat or not?
