Geocache Description:

This tour will take you to some places you might have overlooked as it's not entirely on the 'beaten path' yet, also if you're a long term resident in Cairo. Most tourist busses coming to this area often just have the people visit the Khan-el-Khalily market and depending on their bargaining skills they'd go home with some good buys or not... :-)

However, we hope that you'll like visiting some other places with lots of history that you might have overlooked otherwise!

It is only fitting that this multi-cache starts with a suitable question: at the start coordinates here, how many times do you see the Arabic version of 'Allah' written on the top of the huge Hussein Mosque in front of you here. A = number of times.

With this knowledge, please proceed to the next coordinates at:
30.0A.065
031.15.768

Here you will find a trader's center from the Middle Ages. Traders could come here even with their complete families. Inside there were rooms like in a hostel and areas where they could trade their wares. It's renovation was completed in 2001. Currently part of its rooms are used to house the Antiquities Council. For LE 20 you can have a look inside.
However, you don't have to do that, the only thing you can do to get to your final destination is to count the number of Mashrabeya Windows that protrude from the building. This is B.

So now proceed to the next stage of exploring this part of Islamic Cairo at:
30.02.9AB
031.15.667

Now you will stand in front of one of the 'Sabil's of Cairo...
Imagine life in Cairo's summer without access to a cool drink of water! For centuries dozens of men brought water to the walled city and filled cisterns in homes and in public fountains. One historian estimated that in 1798 there were over 300 in existence in the walled city of al-Qahira.

Your job at this site is just to note which monument number this is (two digits), this is your C.

So please proceed now to your next destination at:
30.03.121
031.15.7D
Where D=C-B

This will bring you to a nice place which you may want to visit. This 300 years old merchant's house is actually two houses that were joined sometime in the late 18th century. This huge house was inhabited by a merchant with his wives and children and has many interesting rooms (some furnished) and court yards. You can see the segregation between the men's (salamlik) and women's (haramlik) quarters. Most of the spaces within the house are not designed around functionality, as houses are today, but around climatic considerations. During the heat of the day, shaded courtyards, balconies and roofs became the living areas, while in the cool of the night, the family would move indoors. It's one of the best renovated old houses to visit in Cairo and you'll have to pay a small fee to visit which is well worth it.

For your search the only important thing you should watch out for here is the number above the door before you'd enter the house at the coordinates. This will give you E.

Now you're ready to go to the final destination at:
30.03.2B2
031.15.7F
Where F=E-10

Now you think you arrived, but actually you still need to find the final place! Please walk to the opposite side of the courtyard you're in now and go to the Imam's elevated preacher's podium. Check on the right side of this podium above a door ledge.

The container you're looking for is a non-standard bullet-proof nano cache:-)
You'll have to bring your own pen to log it. Please be careful that no self-appointed guides or other people see you retrieve the cache or place it back.
